Bio:
Carys-ink is the work guise of Carys Tait, a Bristol-based illustrator and designer.
Having graduated with a degree in Graphic Design, in 1996 Carys began as a designer for Burrell Durrant Hifle, working predominantly on concepts and visuals for television title sequences, and programme branding as well as some After FX animation. During this time her work became increasingly illustrative and more print-orientated when the opportunities arose.
Carys became freelance in 2009 and now works creatively between illustration and design, for clients and agencies.
"I have a versatile style, which comes from my years working as a designer, developing different approaches relevant to each project. However, I particularly like to combine hand-drawn or vector drawing with textures to create fun imagery which may often be character based. At the moment I mostly work on the Mac, but it is my intention in the future to get my hands dirty a bit more often!"
Carys’s work often incorporates her like of bikes, rough-and-ready ‘home-made’ machines, friendly monsters, rollerskates, robots, superhero animals, and hand-drawn typography.
