Thanks to everyone who came along on the opening night of BIG BOAT, little boat at Grain Barge.

We are going to try and post (almost) every day an image from the show, along with some information about that Drawn in Bristol member. Kicking things off is the delightful Andrea Balogh.

Bio:

Andrea Balogh likes forests, plants, animals, people, places and food, not necessary in that order, and she likes making illustrations of these things, too. She is a great fan of hand-painted surfaces; she tends to scan them, then cuts bits and pieces out of them, and somehow later these become pictures - often, for her greatest surprise.

Andrea graduated from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design of Budapest specializing in Visual Communications at the faculty of graphics. She likes dividing her attention between the computer screen and the landscape through the window behind it; a well-balanced working method that feeds the soul and slows the workflow down. Her interests range from design through photography, the history of art, literature, films, exhibitions, contemporary dance (watching) to running and hiking (doing). 

Andrea has been living in Bristol since 2010. She loves her chosen hometown despite the frequent occurrence of umbrella-twisting horizontal rain – which only the locals seem to accept as perfectly normal.
