Upcoming Exhibition: A Scribble of Illustrators

Twelve of the west country’s finest children’s authors and illustrators will be appearing at Bristol's Centrespace gallery to show off their diverse range of techniques and skills, as well as hosting a variety of family events, readings and workshops over the bank holiday weekend.

Among the scribblers involved is Drawn in Bristol studio member Paula Bowles, who's written and illustrated a number of beautiful books for Bloomsbury, Random House and Templar.  'Although Bristol is teeming with well-known illustrators, we have never done something on this scale before,' says Paula. 'So we want to shout from the roof tops and get some exposure!'

In addition to exhibiting work from past, present and future publishing triumphs, each of the illustrators will be creating a new artwork for the show, illustrating one of their favourite collective nouns. A charm of finches? A boat of hippopotamuses? Come along and learn something new!

Joining Paula are the supremely talented Joe Berger, Jo Empson, Yasmeen Ismael, Sean Julian, Steve Lenton, Henning Lohlein, Donough O’Malley, Gwen Millward, Lauren Tobia and Sarah Warburton.

You can find out more about each of the exhibitors on Paula's blog.
