Not that long ago, Drawn in Bristol members Dave Bain, Jayde Perkin and Adam Travers collaborated on illustrating a series of icons for the Download Bristol campaign for local newspaper, Bristol Post.
McCann via Drawn in Bristol commissioned them to produce a series of illustrations that relate to Bristol and to several key themes that regularly occur in local news.
They worked together in our communal studio workspace on a set of rough sketches, which once approved, they firmed up into finished artwork that could be split into three-colours, if necessary, over future campaigns.
Dave describes how 'it was an intense, but exciting process working together to create a cohesive illustration.'
Once they had each completed their individual icons, Dave pieced them together into the Download Bristol arrow shape and Download Bar shape ready to pass back to the in-house design team at McCann.
Below are various images of the artwork in use, starting with an early rough.
