New Work: Ben Goodman

Andalucia by Ben Goodman
We caught up with Drawn in Bristol illustrator and printmaker Ben Goodman this week, who's recently returned from an artist residency in Spain, and had some beautiful new prints to share.

'This summer I travelled to the renowned Alfara Print Studio in rural Spain,' says Ben.  'Set among the ancient oaks whose acorns feed the pigs for that famous Spanish chorizo, the studio provided a space for me to experiment with multi-plate, multi-colour woodcuts.  Above and below are the results of this experimentation, and also an etching I created along the way.'

Both Las Encinas and Dundry are currently being shown at the Quartz arts festival in Taunton.
If you're unfamiliar with Ben's remarkable work, there's a wonderful video on his website (pictured below) which follows Ben's process as he makes a maplewood engraving inspired by his time in Africa, which is well worth a look.
To view more of Ben's work, you can take a look at his portfolio here.
