Drawn In Bristol presents Everly Dark - Home-Studio Visit

With less than a week away, we thought we'd get under the skin of Everly Dark's work and poke around her homestead. For her new solo show, Everly will entice us into portals of otherworldy dreamscapes and affected beauty amongst figures of the weird and woeful absorbed in colour and bizarre exquisite wonder.

In an indulgence of dreams her paintings are portals to other worlds, unearthing the tiny things that tend to get overlooked. We found lowbrow art books and cult novellas, brightly coloured lollipops and plastic skulls tucked neatly away, orderly, quiet, full of imagination and potential. Melancholic joy if you ask us. Thanks for showing us Everly.

Booky spooky: Neo Surrealist painter, Mark Ryden is a source of beautifully gory inspiration and Juxtapos magazine

Naturally dark: Mary Shelly's Frankenstein propping up the coffee table alongside a modern classic Wild Things collectible vinyl toy
